Goose Creek United Special Board Meeting
A GCU Special Board meeting was held electronically on June 8, 2010 at which the Board discussed the issue of the color change. At the root of the issue was the claim that not all members of the club knew that the color change was to be discussed at the AGM held on May 24, 2010 and did not attend the meeting to voice their opinion. The Board discussed the issue at lenght; should the original vote for the color change be set aside and a new vote taken? The Board concluded that the original vote complied with the By-Laws set forth for the Club. Although the issue of the color change was not specifically stated on the flyer handout, it was worded that "we are seeking solutions to any issues arising from our rapid expansion". This was followed by posting on this website that a possible uniform color change would be discussed. Although the Board realizes that not every member would agree with our decision, it was voted to not re-visit the color change issue. The Board also voted to "Grandfather" in the Royal Blue uniform for the U18 Boys only and for this season only. There were several compelling reasons for this vote to include it being their last season with the club.

GCU U11B Cyclones Lose Close Season Opener (February 20)
Building off the success of last season, the Goose Creek United Soccer Club was able to form an additional team in the U11/U12 bracket by dissolving last season's Spirit team and combining them with some new faces to form the U11B Cyclones and the U12B Hurricanes.
After rain outs for the first two weeks of the season, the U11B Cyclones were anxious to play and finally got to see action on the field Saturday against the NASA Revolution. In a good game between two evenly matched teams, it was the Revolution that triumphed 2 to 1. The Cyclones struck first off a corner kick by forward Omar Mirimontes that squirted between the front post and the defender to beat the keeper. The Revolution answered with 2 goals, capitalizing on Cyclone errors. "Being a new team, we had some work to do before the season started and we see a few areas we can still improve on.
